Whether you are a buyer or a seller of real estate, residential or commercial, it is important that you know as much as possible about the agent and the company that it going to represent you. For most people the purchase and the sale of a home is the largest and most significant single financial investment that they will ever make. For a business, looking for that just right location it is the same. It makes sense not to rely on part time or partly involved agents or companies to represent you anymore than you would rely on a part time dentist or attorney to represent you in their fields of expertise. The time spent in investigation and in reading through this page may save you a significant amount of money but it certainly could offer the information to save you an even more significant amount of wasted time and unnecessary anxiety.

Home Finders, Robinson and Associates is a family owned and family operated real estate business. Alan Robinson has been a real estate broker since the early Fall of 1979. For those who remember this time it was characterized as a time of exceptionally high interest rates often times reaching in the 20% plus area. Alan was not interested in a part time approach or in using the industry to offer a supplemental income but rather he had made a firm commitment to devote himself to the profession as a full time professional. The industry was changing fast and the time of just putting a sign in the yard and an ad in the paper then sitting back and waiting for a buyer was as long gone as the dinosaurs. To survive it became necessary to become proficient in the many new lines of financing such as the introduction of the variable rate mortgage, the bi-monthly mortgage, and the balloon payment while not losing ground on the VA and the FHA programs. These years proved to be a great institution of on the job training and learning and the acquiring of a reserve of information and skills that are still much needed today.

During this time and a few years later Alan served as the secretary and treasurer, then vice president, and ultimately president of the local association of Realtors. During that time the organization more than doubled in size as efforts were made to bring the members together where all would bind themselves voluntarily to a code of ethics and conduct that is used today. Alan also spent two years as a director for the State Association of Realtors. Two of the most precious of honors and recognitions were given to Alan by his peers when on two occasions he was awarded the coveted Realtor of the Year designation for his service to the community and the organization. At this same time Alan was also serving at the appointment of the Carteret County Board of Commissions for a three year term as the Chairman of the Board of Health. Each and all of these events have provided the background of knowledge that has been valuable in meeting the needs of all of the clients of HOME FINDERS, ROBINSON AND ASSOCIATES.

In 1984 Sharon Robinson completed her intensive studies and examination requirements achieving the requirements necessary to be licensed by The North Carolina Real Estate Commission. Sharon brought to the company an array of gifts and talents that has proven to be of great value to her customers. Some of these include her eye for color and detail and their application in meeting the needs of her customers. Floor plans are an important issue for most lifestyles and Sharon has proven herself skilled in matching needs to the perfect home. Her knowledge of the area provides unlimited information and comfort to her customers as she locates and discusses schools, hospitals, local parks, doctor offices, water access points, weather, dance studios, shopping areas, banks, gardeners, churches, and many other things important to a home buyer and their family. Sharon also employs all of her skills, education, and common sense that she has acquired as a wife and as a mother to three growing boys to help newcomers become familiar with the area. She has spent many hours on the highways and back roads of Carteret County and has become familiar with its neighborhoods and its families. She became an excellent teacher and a skilled listener in her Sunday School and church youth activities. With three boys, all in separate schools for most of the time, Sharon is knowledgeable of the locations and availability of many of the resources that are important to families as they decide where to live. When Sharon first began in real estate her youngest son was in kindergarten and the oldest son in high school. Many homeowners in and around Beaufort, Morehead City, Newport, and Cape Carteret will remember Daniel coming along on many afternoons as Sharon carried him with her to show properties. None of this seemed strange to Alan or Sharon as their first focus in the real estate business has been to family and helping other families find their dream home.

Both Alan and Sharon can tell you how it came to be that they opened their own business in 1991 with a belief that there was still a place in an ever expanding and changing world of real estate for a company that could employ the latest of technologies available and still maintain focus on the individual customer or client tending to the details and the personal needs of each customer with every one as important as the last one or the next one. Their business philosophy has been to take care of the needs of others as their trade allows and all else will take care of itself. This has proven to be true and remains still the moral strategy of their business.
Shortly after opening Home Finders, Robinson and Associates several of the company’s buyers had a need to rent their property until they were ready to move at some time in the future and some wanted to rent them long term. Initially established to meet the needs of these requests a rental division was established. From this small start it has grown into a very active property management company and is looked upon by many in the community as the first source for locating a home to rent. Home Finders rental business focuses only on properties located in Carteret County. Many of its’ residential clients will allow pets including the family dog or cat.

As Home Finders has aged it has also grown in efficiency. While sticking ever so strongly to its’ personal approach to customer service, Home Finders has expanded into the world of technology while making sure that it always careful never to allow numbers or statistics to replace listening and speaking face to face with their clients. A list of some of these systems that are available without charge to the customer include the posting of our email accounts, a toll free telephone number, a 24 hours facsimile machine, a web page with links to many of the interests of property buyers and sellers, as well as all of the tools provided through their membership in the National, State, and Local Associations of REALTORS including REALTOR.COM, the Multiple Listing Service that allows our clients properties exposure world wide, and maybe most important the grapevine of satisfied customers. In other words, Home Finders can provide all of the “bells and whistles” of the big out of town franchise companies but without sacrificing personal service.

Standing in place in an alternating line like cattle in a stall and then picking from a prescribed menu may be fine for serving food to large crowds but the details of purchasing real estate is more than matching a round peg to a round hole. It takes service, caring, work, and experience to match the rules, the laws, and the buyer and seller needs and bring about the completion of a real estate transaction favorable to everyone involved. That is what Home Finders does and does well.

Home Finders welcomes first time homeowners too. They will take the time to see that you understand what to expect and to do what is in your best interest and to counsel and to protect. Many of Home Finders clients return again and again for their services. The company has grown through the testimonies of their customers to friends and to relatives. If you are considering the sale or purchase of a home, whether it is new construction or existing in an established subdivision, Home Finders real estate company will bring its’ expertise to the table to represent you and your interest and will do so in the most confidential and honest manner possible.
